nullSometimes, you can overdo it a little with interview excuses.   It's a good thing Rosh has a tolerant boss:

I normally say there has been a death in the family.   I remember my boss called me on it once he said so more than 7 members of your family died over the past 6 months.  It was ok cause he was nice, so he didn't make a big deal but he did laugh at me.

What excuse are you going to use for your next job interview? Site visitors have shared lots of creative ideas for taking time off to interview.   Some of the suggestions are interesting - plumbing problems, lots of dental work, burglary, car troubles, and more.

If you don't have  a flexible work environment or you can't use vacation or other leave time,  here are interview excuses to use when you need to take time off to interview. If you have a good excuse for taking time off for an interview, add it to our collection of interview excuses.
