Is it time to start a job search? According to a Glassdoor.com survey, as the economy picks up, employees are starting to think it could be.
More employees are thinking about job searching and they believe their chances of finding a new job in a relatively short amount of time are pretty good. The survey reports that:
- 40% of employees believe it's "likely" they could find a job that matches their experience and salary in the next six months.
- 74% of employees plan to leave their current position in the future.
- 38% expect to leave their job in less than three years.
- 28% expect to do so in less than two years.
- 14% expect to do so in less than a year.
It's important to keep in mind that, even if you're not actively job searching, it can be a good idea to test the waters now and then to see what jobs are available, to see how you could boost your career, and to see how much you are worth in a job market that is starting to be a little more competitive, especially in the tech sector.
