There are also other ways to write your resume so it stands out from the pack.

The two best things I’ve done to help make my resume look good is ask friends and professionals for advice. A lot of universities or colleges have resume writing help (and job placement help) in their alumni center, but just friends can help point out simple things like grammatical errors or weird sentence structure.

The other thing I’ve learned to do is after I’ve “finished” writing my resume, print it out and just keep it with me. Every few times a day I’d glance at it and find totally stupid errors on my part that I just didn’t see while I was writing it. Also, your mind is more clear and often you may have forgotten something really important (like an award you won or a program you learned to use) that can be added. Then I fix it, print it out again, and do the same thing. It’s amazing how much it can improve when you give your mind a week or so to think everything through.
