My email In Box is full, every single day, of pitches for the latest, greatest, best sites for job seekers.
These job sites promise to find you a job fast, they guarantee you exclusive job listings, and they assure you that the site is a top ranked site for job seekers.
Some of the job sites that call themselves the best job sites are not good job sites, let alone the best job sites. Others are just plain old bad job sites any which way you consider them, and still others would garner a spot on a list of worst job sites.
The worst of them take advantage of job seekers who can't afford to waste money by charging them for job listings and resources that are readily available for free.
Don't believe for a minute what they tell you about having exclusive listings - just about every company posts jobs on its own website and you can readily access them without spending a dime.
It's important to know that you absolutely don't ever have to pay for job listings. There is no need to pay a monthly fee, a quarterly fee, or any other fee to access job listings. You can access the exact same jobs posted on company websites or via the job search engine sites for free.
Because the Internet is so difficult to police, it's up to job seekers to do due diligence and check out the job sites they are going to use ahead of time. Before you consider signing up for a fee-based site, posting your resume, or registering to use a job site, check out the difference between bad job sites and good ones, and how you can evaluate job sites, so you don't get taken advantage of and spend money on something that's available elsewhere absolutely free.
It won't take you much time to check out the site and it's well worth what you'll save in the long run.
Do you have a job site you think is bad or that you think is terrific? Let us know what you think and add a job site review to our list.

A bit disingenuous to create a post titled bad job sites and have a secondary link in the article pointing to another post about bad job sites and not name a single example of a bad job site – or better yet a list of them.
There are a number of them out there. I wrote a post about the NYS dept of labor continuing to carry ads for one of them Smart 2010 Workforce New York Warning that even the Better Business Bureau wont give an A rating.
Deciding which job sites are bad, and which aren’t, is somewhat subjective. There are sites that I wouldn’t recommend that job seekers have told me were terrific and they got a job because of the site.
That’s why I suggest job seekers carefully check out sites before they use them and why I’ve asked job seekers to share what sites have worked well for them and which haven’t.
