How to Write a Resume
One of the hardest parts of job searching, especially when you're just starting out, is figuring out how to write a resume. It's important to take the time to create a customized resume that specifically highlights the experience you have that is relevant to the job you are applying for. When your resume is good match for the hiring requirements, you'll have a better chance of getting an interview.Many companies use recruiting management software to screen applicants for jobs. When you use resume keywords that match the jobs you're applying for it will increase the chances of your resume being compatible with a job that's open and your resume showing up in the hiring manager's search results. Alison, Thanks for a great post. In today’s job market there is one way in which the candidate has a chance of standing out from the crowd if they haven’t used networking to get access and that is to tailor the resume to fit the position. I agree with you and with Barry. The kiss of death in the job search is sending out the same cover letter and resume to every job. Too few people realize that in looking for a job they have to be a salesperson. How can they address the hiring agent’s needs with a cookie cutter cover letter they send out to everyone?
