Finding Real Work at Home Jobs

Sunday June 14, 2009
work at homeI was helping a friend look for work from home job listings this week and it was a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. Real work from home jobs are really hard to find. Most of the listings you see online are, at best, going to pay a little bit of money or, at worst, will cost you money.

However, there are some good resources for finding legitimate jobs where you can work from home. Laureen Miles Brunelli, About.com's Work-at-Home Moms Guide has a useful directory of companies hiring for work at home jobs.

If you're a writer, Allena Tapia, About.com's Guide to Freelance Writing, has a terrific list of 20 places to find telecommuting freelance writing jobs.

I have a directory of sites that list work from home jobs and information on how to go about finding a work at home job. A word of warning though, there are more scams out there than ever. So, before you apply take the time to check out the company to be sure that it isn't a work at home scam.

Thanks for linking to me, Alison. I do enjoy freelance writing as a legit work at home career. Unfortunately, one of the sites on my Top 20 list went under, so now it’s a Top 19 list! But, it’s a list of the EXACT places where I go for my own freelance writing jobs!
