I think your first point cannot be emphasized enough. It is very important to draft separate resumes for each place of business you submit your resume to. Employers can tell the difference between a blanket resume (http://content.office.monster.com/resume-writing-basics/entry-level-jobs/The-One-Size-Fits-All-Resume-Usuall/home.aspx) and one specifically tailored towards their industry. I think the first step towards doctoring a resume is amending the objective statement in each case. This article (http://content.office.monster.com/resume-writing-basics/Whats-Your-Objective/home.aspx) goes into depth on how to direct your objective at a particular employer.
I found both of these articles on the Tips/Advice tab (http://www.facebook.com/business/dashboard/?ref=sb#/officelivestudent?v=app_7146470109&viewas=32400819) on Microsoft’s Office Live Students Facebook page. It’s an awesome resource for anyone in the job market right now. Check it out.
