The Best Job in the World

Monday January 12, 2009
bestjob I mentioned the best jobs for this year last week, but now we have another contender to add to the list. A word of warning, there is only one opening, but, you never know - no experience is required, somebody is going to get hired, and even making it to the final round would be a terrific opportunity.

The six-month contract job of Island Caretaker will be based on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef. For a salary of AUD $150,000 (about US $104,000), the Island Caretaker will enjoy flexible working hours and the opportunity to explore one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.

For six months, the Caretaker will discover and promote what the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef have to offer and report on the experience to Tourism Queensland (the sponsor of the job) headquarters in Brisbane via blogs, a photo diary, video updates, and interviews.

To apply, visit the islandreefjob.com web site. Candidates can apply online. Before you apply, check out the competition and their video applications. You can view the most recent, the most popular, and the most viewed applicants for the job.

The top ten candidates will participate in an interview selection process which will be held on a number of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef in May. So, even making it to the final round would be an adventure. The winner reports for work on July 1, 2009.

The marketing campaign advertising the Best Job in the World has attracted thousands of hopeful in the times of recession. But the campaign went wrong with website crashes and rejection of thousands of eligible candidates because of technical issues. Not everyone could even has a chance to apply, after weeks and weeks of preparing a video application. Queensland Tourism is saving every penny and didn’t even think of such a basic thing as increasing the bandwidth ! This is the worst job to apply to.

Rescues Kim!
I thought that Kim is a specialty, and care manner person. I saw has many people to the point of view is subject to duty this work, but I thought that she is not such person. Perhaps some people is good at performing, movie also very fancy. But is this work’s core not that environmental protection ‘ care ‘ continues forever to develop like three goals? Now the great barrier reef ecology moves toward feebly day after day , we need to have a person who has sincerity to treasure it the to manage it, but is not throws the ticket to the human who is good at performing , like this we and the later generation descendants can forever appreciate guarantee the reef beautiful scene, also can avoid letting it move toward the historical noun the regret, DO you want yours and your descendants can appreciate guarantees the reef greatly? That throws the ticket to Kim! In all participants, only then she can accomplish, please throw a your sacred ticket to her! Thanks!
