Best and Worst Jobs
Job site CareerCast.com has evaluated the best - and the worst - jobs for this year based not just on compensation, but on job security, emotional stress, hiring outlook, and physical safety. The list of the best jobs includes mathematician, actuary, statistician, biologist, and software engineer. The worst jobs include lumberjack, dairy farmer, taxi driver, seaman, and emergency medical technician. The last one is interesting, because Rod Brouhard, About.com's Guide to First Aid, considers emergency medical services a terrific career.
So, given that what you might consider a best job could be on someone else's worst jobs list, here's a look at the best and worst jobs for 2009:

Great to see math getting its due recognition. Interesting to see that many of the other top jobs also have math components: http://www.jobsrated.com. Hope the nation’s kids – and their parents – see this report.
With compensation being one of the criteria, being a fine artist is never going to make the Top 10 best jobs. But it should!
