Obama Job Applications

Saturday November 15, 2008
Employment applications typically ask for lots of information, but the job application for a job in the Obama administration reportedly might break a record. The New York Times reports the Obama job application is 7 pages long, has 63 requests for personal and professional records, and wants to know all the aliases/handles you use online. That includes Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and the other social networking sites, Forums, instant message, email, blogs, etc. That would be a hard one for me; I can barely keep track of them all. Oh, and they want copies of potentially embarrassing emails, too.

The application also wants to know if you have ever received any gifts worth over $50 from anyone other than relatives or close friends, paid your taxes late, who you have lived with during the last ten years, and if you have a conflict-of-interest that could embarrass yourself, your family, or the President-Elect.

CNN adds that you also need to note if you own a gun, and if you have any enemies. Those last two could go hand in hand, I suppose. There is, of course, also all the typical information you'll need to complete on a job application.

Applying for an Obama Administration Job

If you're interested in applying for one of the 8,000 expected new jobs in the Obama-Biden Administration, Change.gov has an expression of interest form you can complete. You'll then receive an email with a link to a more extensive online application, and if you're considered for a position you'll need to fill out more forms, including financial disclosures.

If you're one of the lucky candidates for an Obama administration job, I'd recommend gathering all the information you need before you fill it out. That will save some time when you're completing it. And be sure to tell the truth. Lying on a job application can knock you out of contention from the job or can be grounds for firing you at any point in the future.

Mr. President: I know you know that the hardest job in the world is to become President specially here in the U.S.A. where there are 50 or 5l states. Just today I watched in the news a father killed himself along with his family because they are already facing great financial difficulty, maybe they are already losing everything, house, vehicles, their jobs, etc., so they decided to end up their lives instead of facing more hardships in the days ahead. It saddened me, why don’t you instruct the mayors, the governors, the senators, the congressman of each state to create a network assisting their constituents before horrible things occured, perhaps this family will be saved if only there is a certain network they could go to, maybe if this family had somewhere to go to or ask help even just counselling, or whatever help the govt., could extend to them, then the 2 children that were involved and were killed by their own father, maybe they will be happy kids too like your beloved children. Something must be done before worst comes to worst, stop blaming the former government, stop suing anyone who had not done good in the past, start creating a network that will help people, american people, stop glamourous life, start attending to the real problems/issues the american people are facing now. Like me, I’m living below the poverty line I was on foodstamp i don’t know why they stop giving me my foodstamp, i am disabled, everyday i’m getting weaker and weaker, i am disabled bu my mind still works, i could see the sufferings of the people, the poorest among the poor. . . .
