Returnships - Internships for Professionals

Saturday November 8, 2008
What's a returnship? It's a paid internship offered by Sara Lee Corp. for professionals who have taken time out of the workforce. The program is aimed at mid-career individuals who have 5 to 10 years of professional experience in marketing, sales, human resources, law, finance, operations, information technology or similar positions. Doesn't that sound like a great way to jump start your career after a break?

By the way, Sarah Lee's chairman and chief executive officer Brenda Barnes took a seven year break herself, resigning as president of PepsiCo North America to be a stay-at-home mom. Here's more on Sarah Lee's Returnship Program, along with an interview with Brenda Barnes from Katherine Lewis, About.com's Guide to Working Moms.
