Job Searching With a Criminal Record

Saturday November 8, 2008
How can you find a job when you have a criminal record? It's certainly not easy. Not only can a criminal record impact your employability, but the time out of the workforce is an additional challenge when seeking employment. Here are some suggestions on how to job search with a criminal record.

It's not only a criminal history that can impact your job search. When conducting an employment background check, employers can also check your credit, your work history, and your driving record. Before you apply for a job, be knowledgeable about what employers can check, what employers will find out about you, what you need to disclose, and how to best prepare for an employment background check.

Many people don’t realize that it is easy to erase old criminal records.

Instead, they suffer stress and anxiety knowing how hard it is to get a job with a criminal record as so many employers are now doing background checks.

Its important to know that you can remove your past mistakes so that it doesn’t haunt you for the rest of your life.
