Glassdoor - Help Finding the Right Job

Wednesday August 6, 2008
Job searching isn't just about finding any job, it's about finding the right job. When you accept a job offer, it's important that, in addition to a compensation package you're satisfied with, the job and the company fit with your working style, your career goals, and your expectations for the future. When it's not a good match, it can do more than impact your working life - it can impact your health and personal life, as well. Taking the time to carefully evaluate a job offer is time well spent. Now, there's even more information available you can use to research companies online.

When Glassdoor.com went live earlier this summer, I mentioned that the site is simple and easy to navigate, and is an excellent way to get inside information on companies you might want to work at, including how satisified the employees are, what they see as the pros and cons, and how much they are earning.

In the short amount of time since then, Glassdoor has grown tremendously. The site started with with just 3,500 pieces of content on 250 companies. Now, Glassdoor has more than 53,000 members with reviews and salary reports on more than 11,500 employers in over 75 countries. Company information includes reviews, ratings, salaries, CEO approval rating, competitors, content providers, and more.
