Teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL)

Tuesday July 8, 2008
You have just finished a bachelor's degree in philosophy, 19th century literature, African history, or some similarly practical topic. Your first school loan payments soon will be due. You would really like to get out and see a bit of the world, but don't have a trust fund to raid, in order to buy a round-the-world junket. Or perhaps are you looking for a mid-career adventure? What to do? Guest Author Kallie Szczepanski recommends teaching EFL (English as a Foreign Language) at an overseas school.

Kallie, the About.com Guide to Asian History, and an historian who has spent more than five years living in Asia, has advice on teaching EFL overseas, the credentials you need, and what to ask before signing a contract.
