Job Searching in a Tight Job Market

When the job market gets tight, it's important to be well-positioned to job search. There is more competition for fewer jobs and you, unfortunately, never know when you might lose yours. There are ways that you can insure that you're in a strong position, regardless of why you're changing jobs. First of all, be prepared to job search. Have an up-to-date resume ready to send to employers, and, at least, start thinking about writing cover letters.

It's important to work on building your brand, so the image you portray to employers is professional. Having a distinctive brand will help you stand out from the crowd of job seekers. Make sure that employers can find you - it makes job searching a whole lot easier when employers are seeking you out, rather than the other way around.
