Follow Up Letters

Friday December 28, 2007
Do you need to follow up after an interview or after submitting your resume for a job opening? Here's a selection of follow up letters samples you can use to reiterate your interest in the position and check on the status of your candidacy. There's also a follow up letter template you can customize to fit your personalize circumstances.

Here's why it's important - many applicants (at least half) don't send thank you letters after an interview, and an Accountemps Survey reports that 88% percent of executives said they consider a thank you note influential when evaluating candidates. So, take the time to follow up and make good impression on what could be your next employer.

As a Certified Resume Writer/Career Coach, I always encourage my clients to follow-up, normally with a hand written letter, emphasizing a point of interest that transpires from the interview. Certainly not time wasted!
