Sending a Thank You Note

Sunday November 11, 2007
Thank You Note Manners really do matter and they can even help you get a job offer. An Accountemps Survey reports that 88% percent of executives said they consider a thank you note influential when evaluating candidates. However, just about half of applicants don't take the time to send a thank you note after an interview.

52% of executives said they preferred a hand-written note, while 44% recommended email. Another 3% would like to receive both an email and a written thank you note.

It's important to say thank you after a second interview as well the first. It's also important to thank everyone you interviewed with and everyone who assisted with your job search. Here's information on thank you notes including who you should thank and the best way to thank them.

If you're not sure what to write, review a sample thank you letter or two to get some ideas and suggestions.
