Green Jobs

Wednesday October 3, 2007
Green jobs have been in the news quite a bit lately. This week's Newsweek magazine has an article on how green jobs are hot (global warming aside), noting that "K. R. Sridhar, CEO of the fuel-cell start-up Bloom Energy, believes the clean-tech sector could produce 50,000 new jobs by 2010."

MonsterTrak just announced a new site with green job and volunteer opportunities - GreenJobs - along with a Green Careers Guide you can use to build your career and make a difference in the word.

So, what's a green job and how do you find one? There are a couple of different types of green jobs. There are jobs at companies that work to reduce peoples' impact on the environment and there are jobs at environmentally-friendly companies which are socially responsible and do their best to improve the environment, rather than harming it. There are also job sites, like MonsterTrak's GreenJobs and Greenjobs.com that list renewable energy jobs and jobs with green companies. Here's where to learn more and where to look for green jobs.
