First Second Life Job Fair

Wednesday May 9, 2007
Henna Humby - Second LifeTMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications, the recruitment advertising agency, is hosting the first virtual, 3D interactive Network in World (NiW) Job Fair in Second Life from May 15 - 17. Candidates will be able to interview (for real jobs) with top companies, including Microsoft, eBay, HP, Sodexho, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

It's important to note that you'll need an Avatar to sign up for a meeting with one of the employers. Avatars need to attend orientation where they learn to communicate, move, and edit their appearance before they can start building their Second Life. So, if you're interested and don't have an Avatar yet, you should register now so you can get started.

Once you have an Avatar, and if you're selected to meet with an employer, you can attend training, which is optional. When it's time for your meeting you'll be teleported from TMP Island via telehubs to the company's location on the island.

If you're planning on attending, I'd be interested in hearing what you thought and how it worked out for you - please "comment" below. Thank you!

Oh, and one more thing, Steve Rothberg talks about the importance of your Avatar wearing clothes in the CollegeRecruiter.com blog. That's important, too.
