Playing Games

Friday April 7, 2006
Do you like to play games? If so, it can be helpful while interviewing. The Albany, NY Times Union has an interesting article on how the hiring manager at Six Flags Great Escape uses Jenga as a way to see how well job applicants interact in a group setting and how well they work together as a team. To add a twist to the interview process, the hiring manager shakes the table and topples the game.

Why would an interviewer want you to play a game? The goal, when interviewing applicants for any position, is to make a match. About.com's Human Resources Guide, Susan Heathfield, explain the Job Interview Match Dance - and why it matters.
