Unemployment Unchanged
Friday December 2, 2005
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the unemployment rate was unchanged, at 5%, in November. Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 215,000 jobs, which is is the largest increase since July. There were large gains in the construction and food services industry, as well as increases in professional and technical services, retail, and health services. There were even gains in manufacturing, which has been on the decline. So, all in all, a good report for those seeking employment.
