Wake Up Wal-Mart

Saturday November 5, 2005
Wal-Mart is the largest retailer in the world, as well as the largest private employer in the United States, employing over one million American workers. WakeUpWalMart.com has launched the Wal-Mart Workers of America (WWOA) - a national association for Wal-Mart workers, with the goal of improving working conditions and informing Wal-Mart employees about workplace issues, class-action lawsuits, whistleblowing, and their labor rights. Wal-Mart, on the other hand, continues to battle critics, including holding a Wal-Mart Brand Symposium yesterday to help bolster its image.

I would love nothing better than to see this site ahead of the search rankings based on popularity than even walmart.com itself. Imagine that the search term for “Walmart” pointed to a consumer awareness website before a corporate giant. Wouldn’t that be nice?

I fully support Wal-mart opening a store in new york city. It is good for the community in that badly needed jobs will be created; and most importantly, it is good for the shoppers of new york city…the most heavily taxed city in the world!

The labor unions are controlling the nyc council, which is nothing more than a socialist political entity. This is the same council which condemned the U.S. military after beginning the war on terrorism. The same council which continually approves massive tax hikes…bleeding the citizens of this once-great city dry. This so-called “City Council” is run by a bunch of anti-American freaks, weirdos and socialists. STOP THE LABOR UNIONS FROM INTIMIDATING THE WORKING PEOPLE OF NYC!

Wal-Mart MUST BE ALLOWED TO OPEN A STORE IN NYC.
