Hurricane Katrina Volunteer Opportunities

Friday September 2, 2005
There are volunteer job opportunities available to assist in the hurricane ravaged Gulf Coast Region of the United States. However, it's important to note that every agency is requesting that volunteers do not report directly to the areas affected by the hurricane unless directed by a volunteer agency. VolunteerMatch provides a database of opportunities, a list of crisis support organizations, as well as a list or relief organizations. In addition, the following agencies are seeking volunteers:
American Red Cross
Baton Rouge Help Needed
Health & Human Services Volunteer Registration
Louisiana Volunteer Information
Medical Volunteer Registry
Salvation Army
USA Freedom Corps
