Chantal Sutherland, a former Canadian top apprentice jockey now riding on the New York circuit, commenting on how a psych major ended up racing horses said in a recent Times-Union article that a college psychology class helped her make up her mind. "You had to ask yourself if you are good at it, if you are passionate about it and if you can you make money at it," Sutherland said. "I might not make a lot of money at it, but, you know what, I wanted to do something I love. A lot of people make career choices and they don't really love what they're doing." That's so important to remember whether we are seeking our first job or considering a career change. Doing something you love can make a job seem much more like fun than work.
