Job Networking Success

Friday July 8, 2005
You may have read how job networking can be the key to a successful job search or career change. Here's an example of how well it can work. This is actually several success stories rolled into one. While in college, networking at a holiday party got a student his first co-op position. That co-op position led to a full-time job for the summer. The student graduated and went on to start a career with a major East Coast computer company. After a couple of years, he decided to relocate back to his home town and touched base with the person who hired him for the co-op position. That led to a job offer from the company where his contact is now working. That, in a little more than a nutsell, is why you should always have a career network in place because you never know when it might be helpful.
