Unemployment Drops

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment dropped slightly in January. Both the number of unemployed persons, 7.7 million, and the unemployment rate, 5.2 percent, were down from the prior month. Employment increased in education and health services with the overall number of jobs gained at 35,000. Employment was also up in business and professional services, finance, and transportation.
