Unemployment at Twenty Year High

More bad job market news... The number of out-of-work Americans applying for unemployment benefits last month rose to the highest point in more than 20 years according to the Department of Labor. The number of laid-off workers collecting unemployment benefits rose by 87,000 in the week ending June 28 to 3.82 million, the highest level since 1983. In addition, the unemployment rate increased to a nine-year high of 6.4 percent in June.
